When we are part of a guild, everything we say or do can be used against the guild, or give the guild a good or bad reputation. We always consider that in everything we do.
Put some thought into your character names, and the names of your pets. It is preferable that these names are not offensive to just not us, but also to anyone else in the game.
Many of the guild members have RL commitments and overall a casual approach to the game so the guilds main focus is not massive raiding or elitist views.
Should someone break an agreement or lower the level of the conversation, it does not change the fact that to break rules that have been agreed upon is always wrong.
If somebody inside or outside Shinibana does not know something, we do not call them names or mock them. We teach them how to improve instead.
Help is to be asked for when needed, given to those who need, but never to be demanded if denied.
We are not required to give away items, money and advice but it is a quality we hold in high esteem.
We do not have set attendance requirements for raids, you log on when you can and join in when you want. But if you sign up using the calendar, you are expected to come. So do not sign unless you are sure you can come.
We do not kill horde players at a disadvantage unless they attack first. We see no honour in fighting the weak. We do not corpse-camp horde unless their corpse is in an alliance settlement.
The game is a challenge in development and team work. A wipe or a lost PvP objective is not a disaster. Keep an optimistic perspective. See it as an experience we can learn from. We learn and improve with a smile.
Bad language or behavior is not only defined by the speaker, but also by the listener. We strive to never behave badly or use bad language against another player.
The game chat is a very limited media. If a situation occurs where we are angered or upset, it is usually a bad idea to deal with it there. Instead, once we have calmed down, we either post or PM on the forum, or contact an officer for assistance.
Religion, politics or other large areas of opinions are a part of who you are and how you think, but to discuss them in-game does not always enhance everyone's game experience. And we all want to have a good experience when logged in.
We are not forced to talk or socialize when logged in. If everyone is quiet all the time however, the guild will feel very empty. So we should all give it a few shots now and then.
Shinibana is an international guild and everyone else should be able to tell what we are talking about in the guild channel. English at all times. If we require to speak in other languages, we create a party or use whispers.
Times stated anywhere on the web page and elsewhere for events and deadlines are all in server time (CET).
We stay up to date on guild happenings by reading the forums as often as we can. Remember to check the Guild Message Of the Day every day when you log in to Skullcrusher. It contains information meant for us.
